Session Deposit
A $50 deposit is required when scheduling your portrait session. Any unpaid deposits will result in a cancelled session. Deposits are non-refundable after 2 weeks.

Helpful Hints to Make You Look Great!

  1. Get a good night’s sleep. We know it sounds silly, but how you feel the day of your session will reflect in your images. Also, it is important to stay out of the sun at least a few days before your session. Sunburn and tan lines can not be removed from your portraits. While they can be minimized, there is an additional artwork fee for this service. If it isn’t possible to stay out of the sun, make sure you glob on the sunscreen. This should help avoid the lobster look and the hat tan.

  2. Iron your clothes! Hang your outfits on hangers -- not shoved in a duffel bag! Wrinkles will not be removed from your finished portraits.

  3. Make sure it fits! Super baggy clothes or really tight fitting clothing is not flattering in a portrait... on any BODY. Avoid tight fitting clothes that may make you look heavier then you are. If you are concerned about your weight, avoid tank tops, sleeveless shirts, horizontal stripes, and shorts. Darker colors are will minimize weight, while lighter colors make you appear larger.

  4. Complimentry Colors. Color is very important when choosing your outfits. Try to pick colors that compliment your skin tone and eye color. Remember, long sleeves and solid colors are most flattering for close-up poses. Avoid stripes, patterns, and tank tops. Do not wear spaghetti straps. Bold patterns will draw attention to your outfit and away from your face. Also, too much skin will compete for attention, once again drawing away from your face. Necklines are also important. If you have a slightly longer neck, choose a shirt with a higher neckline. If you have a shorter neck, choose a shirt with a v-neck.

  5. Your clothes are important! We realize that your fashion is apart of who you are. Our suggestions will help you get the best senior portraits possible, which is what we strive to create for you. While are tips are accurate, if there is an outfit you must be photographed in, and it doesn’t fit our guidelines, please still bring it in. We also want you to be happy. We will try our best to make it work, but just in case it doesn’t please bring along a back-up outfit.

  6. Don’t forget the Details! Make a list of everything you want included in your senior portraits. For example, shirts, pants, shoes, socks, ties, class ring, letter jacket, hat, nylons, jewelry, hair clips, etc. Don’t leave anything out. If you will be wearing black shoes, please bring black socks. The Michael Jackson look ended in the 80’s!

  7. Sport Images. If you’re looking for something special that those school pictures just can’t deliver, bring in your sports gear for a great keepsake portrait. We offer many different sport composites for the sport fanatic. Take a look at our special product page for some fun examples.

  8. What about your hair? If you plan on getting your hair cut or colored, please do so 2 weeks prior to your session date. If you’re not happy with your hair cut, you won’t be happy with your senior portraits. Please make sure your hair is dry and combed before you get to the studio. You will have a few minutes between sets to change and check your hair. Guys, make sure you have a fresh shave. Five o’clock shadows will not be retouched. Girls, it’s always a good idea to bring along a brush for any touch-ups during the session.

  9. Bring extra outfits! I know we already mentioned this, but it is very important. Sometimes what you think will work, doesn’t.

  10. Do you wear glasses? Lenses may distort the eye, or cause glare. To avoid these complications it is recommended that you visit your eye care specialist for a pair of empty frames or have the lenses removed from your own frames. This will avoid unnecessary retouching fees later.

  11. Do you have braces? Don’t be afraid to smile. Braces can be removed from your photos. Samples are available in our senior guide or at the studio. Removal of braces in $75. per pose.

  12. Do you have crooked or missing teeth? Please let us know if you are concerned about your smile. Everybody loves a smile, but it’s also good to have a variety of expressions. Some seniors have a great serious look, but we can correct your teeth with artwork for your final portraits. Ask to see samples at the studio.

  13. Are you getting photographed outdoors? Avoid getting lost in the scenery by wearing lighter colors. Darker colors tend to blend in with the background. If you are having your car or pet in your portraits wear a color that will be a contrast. For example, if your car is black, don’t wear black!

  14. Bringing a pet? Bring along a friend or parent to watch your pet while you’re being photographed. It’s also a good idea to bring along a lint brush, leash, water dish, and treats.

  15. Are you being photographed with your siblings or a friend? It is most attractive to coordinate outfits. Choose colors that are either the same or complementary. If you need suggestions, give us a call.

  16. Going to the Beach? Shades of blue and brighter colors look great at the beach. Keeping it casual usually looks the most natural and is the most popular choice. Avoid bold prints!

  17. What if it Rains!? Yes, the weather in Wisconsin is a little unpredictable. If it is raining on the day of your beach session, give us a call, as we may need to reschedule. However, if it’s raining the day our your studio session, come prepared for your outdoor session. The weather can change very quickly. We will always go ahead with the indoor session, but if it continues to be rainy or cloudy, we will have to reschedule the outdoor session for another day.
